The MacBride Tuesday Night Bass League launches its inaugural season this summer, bringing competitive bass fishing to one of Eastern Iowa’s most popular fisheries—Lake MacBride. Located just outside Solon and a short drive from Iowa City, Lake MacBride is known for its healthy largemouth bass population, scenic shorelines, and active local fishing community. This league was created to give anglers a consistent, fun, and competitive weeknight format while building a strong community around bass fishing on the lake.
Whether you are a seasoned tournament angler or someone who simply enjoys competitive fishing with friends, the MacBride Tuesday Night Bass League offers an organized format that rewards skill, consistency, and dedication throughout the summer.
Take off and weigh in at the State Park Main Ramp.
The league features a structured 10-tournament schedule that runs throughout the summer. Each Tuesday night event contributes toward qualification for the season-ending championship tournament.
Anglers who commit to the season and consistently participate will have the opportunity to compete for additional payouts and prizes during the championship event.
League structure includes:
• 10 total tournaments during the summer season
• Tuesdays 5 PM 8:30 PM
• Season-ending championship tournament held on a weekend
• Additional prize payouts supported by league sponsors
• Qualification based on tournament participation
The championship will be a full tournament day, allowing anglers more time on the water and creating a competitive finale to the season.
Tournament Details

Location: Launch and weigh-in at the Lake Macbride North Ramp (AKA Opie Boat Ramp).

Fees: An annual membership fee of $30 is required, which includes an official league t-shirt. Each tournament costs $20 per boat.

Regulations: There is a 3-fish limit per boat for each event.

Championship: The top 10 qualifying anglers/teams from the regular season advance to an end-of-season championship tournament. Must fish 8 tournaments to qualify for the Championship.
